The VP will report to the Senior Privacy Risk Officer of the U.S. Banks and will be responsible for supporting first line of defense risk management program and activities related to the collection, use, processing, sharing, and protection of bank client data.
The VP will be based in Purchase, NY or New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist existing team managing the privacy risk program to ensure compliant collection, use, processing, sharing, and protection of client data.
• Support and partner with business units, legal, risk, and compliance teams to ensure business is conducted in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy obligations.
• Demonstrate/develop managerial skills, to assist in oversight and training of less experienced team members.
• Participate in assessment of business unit controls and ongoing monitoring activities to manage privacy risk, identifying and managing open issues/action plans as appropriate.
• Oversee strategic projects, driving deliverables and providing status reporting.
• Participate in responding to 1LOD, 2LOD and 3LOD testing, as well as regulatory exams.
• Analyze metrics to identify trends and report to senior management via committee presentations.
• Participate in design and implementation of new controls driven by regulatory changes.
• Strategize to improve efficiency of Privacy Risk operations.
• Participate in privacy educational efforts with key business units.
Skills required:
• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience; preferably in privacy and/or financial services industry.
• Applicable certifications strongly encouraged (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPM, etc.)
• Legal degree a plus
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment, both independently and as part of a team, under tight deadlines and with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, efficiently and effectively.
• Strong project management and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical, quantitative, and investigative problem-solving abilities; with the ability to make actionable recommendations from data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; capable of writing documentation, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management and colleagues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
